Ataxiapédies (Notations on Chaos and Order) is a book that continues my exploration into the language of various art forms ranging from photography and painting, delving more deeply into architectural drawing and graphic music notation. These languages have their one syntax, which in the case of architecture is submitted to a process of deconstruction and interplay with the more open and abstract character of graphic music notation. Architectural and indeterminate music notation deal with similar issues of representation, space, duration and movement. The work interacts with the structural systems of communication (spatial, temporal, graphic, musical and linguistic) and the unfolding points where they may deconstruct and open up to new visual and poetic possibilities.
The book may be interpreted as an indeterminate libretto/choreography/stage design/score for an imaginary ballet loosely related to The Eumenides, the third play of the Oresteia trilogy.
